Hunting Down Nessie With A 130km Walk Donate This year’s challenge is to raise funds for Young Lives vs Cancer which is the UK's leading cancer charity who provide vital emotional, practical, and financial support to young people and their families in their darkest days. Today and every single day, 12 young people and children will have received a cancer diagnosis - Yesterday they had their whole lives ahead of them with not a care in the world. Children would have been playing with friends and family, laughing and smiling. Teenagers would have been busy being teenagers checking out the latest Tik Tok and Young People would have been busy planning their future with so much to look forward to at university, college or in a job. Now, well that has gone and everything has changed. The world around them is dark and frightening and this is where Young Lives vs Cancer step in. The charity provides a vital support network from helping with the fear of treatment and what happens next, families being torn apart, specialist hospital stays and accommodation, overwhelming financial worries, and emotional support. From the initial diagnosis through treatment and remission to having to deal with bereavement – the charity is there every step of the way. So now its my turn to raise funds step by step for this amazing charity. Myself and work colleagues are walking a gruelling 130km in 4 days around Loch Ness to raise £36,000. I will be fighting off the midges, strapping up the biggest blisters, pushing myself through the pain barrier, all whilst keeping a look out for Nessie. If you can donate no matter how big or small your donation, it will go a long way to help Young Lives vs Cancer continue to provide their amazing service. No-one should fight cancer alone – least of all young adults and children.Thank you 😊 Amelia Batt Manage Cookie Preferences
