This June, I will be cycling 136 miles from London to Amsterdam in aid of Young Lives vs Cancer.

I have seen firsthand the impact cancer can have on a family, as my own father is currently battling this awful disease for a second time. Watching a parent battle cancer is incredibly difficult, and the emotional toll it takes on the whole family is something I wouldn’t wish on anyone. So, for young people and their families, parents being rendered helpless watching the unimaginable happen to their children, no matter how old they may be, I personally cannot begin to comprehend how that feels. But one thing I do know, is that facing cancer at any age can feel isolating and overwhelming, even with love and support.

Young Lives vs Cancer plays a vital role in helping young individuals and their families navigate this challenging journey. They provide essential services, offering emotional support, practical guidance, and financial assistance during some of the hardest moments of life. The organisation’s work helps ease the burdens that cancer places on families, giving them a lifeline when they need it most. Cancer is a fight that no one should face alone, and through fundraising, I hope to give back and make a positive impact on those who need it most.

Every single day 12 children and young people receive the devastating news that they have cancer – and this news changes everything. A time which should be carefree suddenly becomes full of fear.

Every contribution, no matter the size, helps provide comfort, support, and hope during an incredibly challenging time. Thank you for joining us in supporting these young lives and their families. Your generosity helps ensure no child or young person faces cancer alone.

Thank you so much for your donation today. Cole Eardley
